These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of mapchine.com (the “Site”) and any purchases, registrations, or bookings made through our online store (the “Shop”). The Site and Shop are operated by Mapchine LLC (“Mapchine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing the Site or using the Shop, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Shop.
1. What We Offer
Mapchine provides scientific geotechnology services, including (without limitation) geospatial analysis, remote sensing, UAV-related services, mapping, spatial modeling, training, and related consulting (“Services”). We also sell map-related gear and offer courses, workshops, and scientific tours/field experiences (“Offerings”).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make purchases or bookings. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Accounts and Electronic Communications
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree that we may provide notices and transactional communications electronically (e.g., order confirmations, receipts, booking confirmations, policy updates).
4. Orders, Pricing, Currency, Taxes, and Payments
- Currency: Prices are shown in USD unless stated otherwise.
- Pricing/Availability: Prices, product availability, and descriptions may change at any time.
- Taxes & Duties: We may collect applicable sales tax where required. For international orders, you may be responsible for import duties, VAT, customs fees, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by your country.
- Payment Processing: Payments may be processed by third-party providers. Your transaction is also subject to the provider’s terms and privacy policy.
5. Physical Goods (Map Gear): Shipping and Returns
- Shipping: International shipping available. Costs are charged separately and shown at checkout where possible. Delivery times are estimates and depend on carrier, destination, customs, and external factors. No guaranteed delivery dates.
- Returns (30 days; customer pays return shipping):
- Eligible physical items may be returned within 30 days of delivery.
- Return shipping paid by customer, unless item is defective or incorrect (we provide instructions).
- Items must be in original condition (unused, unwashed, with packaging), unless defective.
- Some items non-returnable (e.g., clearance, custom) if stated on product page.
- Return instructions: /returns (or standalone Return Policy if page not yet created).
6. Digital Products, Courses, and Workshops
- Refunds (one-week window): Refundable within 7 days of purchase, unless stated otherwise or required by law. Limited if access fully delivered/consumed (e.g., downloaded or event occurred).
- Access duration: Specified on product page or at checkout.
- No transfers: Purchases and registrations non-transferable without written agreement.
7. Scientific Tours / Field Trips / Expeditions (Assumption of Risk)
Field activities involve outdoor hazards, travel risks, physical exertion, weather, terrain, and equipment use.
By booking, you acknowledge and agree:
- You are physically able and will follow safety instructions.
- You assume all inherent risks (injury, illness, loss, harm).
- You are responsible for medical needs, insurance, documents, and local law compliance.
Additional waivers/releases: Certain tours may require additional releases, waivers, or codes of conduct. Any such documents are incorporated by reference when presented during registration or prior to participation.
8. Product-Specific Policies Control
Where we state “policies are defined per product,” that means:
Product pages, checkout screens, invoices, confirmations, or statements of work may include additional terms (cancellation, rescheduling, deliverables, timelines). If a specific product’s policy conflicts with these Terms, the product-specific policy will control for that purchase.
9. Professional / Scientific Disclaimer (No Guarantee)
Our maps, analyses, models, training, and outputs are provided for informational and decision-support purposes. We do not guarantee that outputs are error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Unless expressly stated in a signed statement of work, our outputs are not legal, cadastral, engineering, or regulatory certifications.
10. Intellectual Property
All Site content, branding, text, graphics, course materials, and deliverables (except as explicitly stated in a signed contract) are owned by Mapchine or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms and any paid license, Mapchine grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site and purchased materials for your internal/personal use. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly display paid content unless expressly permitted in writing.
11. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Use Site for unlawful purposes
- Interfere with security/operation
- Scrape, reverse engineer, extract source code/datasets
- Upload malware/unauthorized access
- Misuse content, impersonate, misrepresent affiliation
12. Third-Party Links and Tools
The Site may link to third-party websites or tools. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
13. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE, SHOP, SERVICES, AND OFFERINGS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Some states do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAPCHINE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE/SHOP/SERVICES/OFFERINGS.
IN NO EVENT WILL MAPCHINE’S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MAPCHINE FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER (IF ALLOWED BY LAW).
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mapchine from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of
- (a) your use of the Site/Shop
- (b) your violation of these Terms
- (c) your infringement of any third-party rights.

18. Dispute Resolution; Venue
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lumpkin County, Georgia, and you consent to jurisdiction and venue there.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the Site or Shop after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
